Newsletter takes a Break!
Fr. Teddy.
Now that we have reached the last Sunday of June, the Newsletter
takes a break for a little while. I would hope that we would have
it back again for the third Sunday of August (20th). I want to
take this opportunity to thank Mary Healy and her family, Farranduff,
for their faithfulness and commitment to carrying on the Newsletter
over the past year since Brendan passed away so suddenly for them.
It is a wonderful service to the Parish and is much appreciated
by many people. There is a lot of work and dedication involved
in bringing it out week after week and I want to express our sincere
gratitude to each member of that family.
Parish Pastoral Council.
I have been flagging the new Parish Pastoral Council for the
Autumn over the last few weeks. Forgive me if I mention it again!
There has been a slight change in the schedule for Training. In
fact it has become shorter. It now involves only one day- commitment,
instead of two. The definitive Training Schedule is as follows:
Group Formation Evening
- Tues. Sept 12th, 8.00 to 10.00 p.m.
Church as People of God
- Tues. Sept 26th, 8.00 to 9.30 p.m.
Call of Baptism - Tues. Oct 3rd,
8.00 to 9.30 p.m.
The Giftedness of our Parish
- Tues. Oct 10th, 8.00 to 9.30 p.m.
Planning Day - Sat. Oct 21st,
10.00 to 4.00 p.m.
First Meeting of New Parish Pastoral Council - Tues. Nov 7th,
8.30 p.m.
Again, I am making an appeal to all of you to think about joining
us as we try to figure out together the future direction of our
Parish. There are no ready-made answers, no foregone conclusions,
as far as I am concerned. All I know is that we must do everything
in our power to make it a vibrant, dynamic, welcoming community
of faith. Together, we can make it happen. I would very much welcome
hearing from you in the coming week if you think you can become
part of our effort. It's a three-year commitment, involving about
eight meetings a year. Failte roimh cach!
Finally, I want to wish you all a good Summer. I know some of
you will get away on holiday, whilst others of you will be working
hard. Please keep safe, whatever you are doing. God Bless
